One could say that Xandra Lapperre was born with a pencil and brush in her hands.  Never was there a time, that anyone can remember, Xandra not having a sketchbook in her possession.  It was no wonder that from early on she was noticed for her talents. 

After graduating from high school Xandra attended the Royal Academy of Art (Koninklijke Acedemie van Beeldende Kunsten) in the Hague, Netherland.  Unfortunately, Xandra was unable to complete her training due to family circumstances.  She then attended and graduated from a teachers college.  While she was teaching she attended classes at night at the Free Academy of Art (Vrije Academie van Beeldende Kunsten) in the Hague. 

Later on she took lessons from such well known artists as, Ad van de Brink, and sculptor Gé Lochman.   Xandra became a member of the art guild (Atelier Modeltekenen) in Zoetermeer, Netherland.  As a member of this guild she furthered her skills in drawing, sculpturing, and painting portraits and models. 

Through the years Xandra has become very proficient in many art mediums, though her favorite remains to be painting with oils.  Art has become a full-time love and Xandra now works on commission as well as creating works for sale.  She also teaches art in both group and private lessons.   

Each creation is an unique expression of Xandra where atmosphere and light are allowed freely play across the canvas.  Unlike other artists, Xandra blends the colors right on the canvas causing the subject to be alive in a burst of 3-dimensional color. Though she enjoys eternalizing both people and animals on canvas, creating stunning expressionistic landscapes, and canvas popping with vividly colored flowers, her favorite remains realistic scenes expressing the simple joy in the lives of playing children.   

Many people are already enjoying the pleasure of owning one of Xandra’s eye-popping paintings where one never ceases to discover new elements in her artwork.  Xandra’s paintings hang in public and private collections throughout Holland and the United States of America.
